97 Mortimer Street

    W1W 7SU

Mortimer Street lies in the heart of Fitzrovia, which is situated between Marylebone and Bloomsbury, and north of Soho, hence picking up its recent title “Noho”.

Unlike Bloomsbury (The Bedford Estate) and Marylebone (Howard de Walden Estate) much of Fitzrovia was developed by minor landowners hence the small and irregular street patterns and fewer squares that you see in areas of single landowners. Apparently, two of London’s oldest surviving residential walkways can be found in Fitzrovia, Colville Place and the pre-Victorian Middleton Buildings.

The former Middlesex Hospital is being redeveloped into luxury residential and retail scheme and is expected to be known as Fitzroy Place.

Fitzrovia is considered a very bohemian area and has strong roots to the fashion and manufacturing industry. The BBC have their head office opposite our building and if rumour is to be believed Cyberia, the first internet cafe in the UK, was located in Fitzrovia.
